PM Modi files nomination from Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday filed nomination papers from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. He was accompanied by top BJP leaders including party chief Amit Shah, Union ministers Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh. Several NDA bigwigs including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patriarch Parkash Singh Badal, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan were also present on the occasion. Earlier, PM Modi visited the Kaal Bhairav temple where he offered special prayers. He also addressed the BJP workers where he said that there is a pro-incumbency wave being witnessed for first time in country after independence. Thanking people of Kashi for love and affection, he said that people have made up their minds and they want Modi sarkar again. Modi said that there are two factors this election – winning Kashi which has already been achieved and second is to win polling booths. Modi said that while he will not let the country down, the BJP workers will not let the party flag down at polling stations. He also said that it doesnt matter whether he win or lose by record margin. The democracy should win, he said. The Prime Minister also asked the party workers to break all voting records this election. He said that he has worked honestly for good governance and the people have made up their minds that they want Modi sarkar again. During yesterdays roadshow here, I have sensed the hard work of party cadre, he said amid chants of Modi Modi from the gathering. On Thursday evening, PM Modi held a mega road show from BHU gate to Dashashwamedh ghat on the bank of Ganga river. According to the BJPs claim, around 6 lakh people took part in the seven km long road show. The Prime Minister commenced his road show by garlanding the statue of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of Banaras Hindu University. Wearing a saffron kurta and scarf, the cavalcade of PM Modi was cheered by a huge crowd present on both sides of the road.
