‘Modi has time for actors, but not common people’: Priyanka Gandhi after PM’s interview with Akshay Kumar

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his interview with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar at the prime ministers official residence on April 23, 2019. Addressing an election rally at Uttar Pradesh, Gandhi said that one can watch PM Modi having an interview with actors but not with the common people. The Congress leader further added that Modi, who represents the Varanasi parliamentary constituency, has not gone to a single village in the last five years. After entering mainstream politics earlier this year, Priyanka Gandhi has been holding a number of road shows and rallies across the country for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Earlier in the day, the grand old party had taken another jibe at Modis latest interview. The party called PM Modi a failed politician who is likely to be rejected by the people on May 23, 2019. The party also said that PM Modi is looking for an alternative employment opportunity in Bollywood. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, Akshay Kumar Ji is a great actor and we like him. He is a very successful actor. An unsuccessful politician who has decimated Indias economy, who has decimated Indias jobs, who has made life hell for Indias farmers and the poor, is now trying to become a better actor than Akshay Kumar Ji. Surjewala also said that PM Modi has a habit of making fun of everything. You looted the entire currency of this country and were clapping and laughing during demonetisation. Is the PMs job to make fun of people, make fun of institutions, make fun of people whom the country feels proud of, or will he do some work also, PTI quoted Surjewala as saying. In an exclusive interview to Akshay Kumar on April 23, 2019, Modi touched on several subjects and lesser-known facts about his childhood and his tenure as the Prime minister.
